Welcome to the United Stank

So this is the inaugural post here at the Stank. Let’s start with an establishing scene…

You feel the cool evening spring breeze wash over you. Beads of sweat from your run chill you startlingly as they evaporate or trickle into various hills and valleys between your shoulder blades, or down your chest. Suddenly, from upwind comes a foul, mellifluous stench the likes of which you’ve never had the pleasure of circumnavigating.

Fearing you’ll come upon a rotting carcass, a rabid skunk or some fetid demonic cloud of pestilence, you nevertheless make your way toward the odor out of some sense of adventurer’s pride; of responsibility for the safety of the community. Think of the children!

Upon reaching the source of the smell, you double over at the sight of the sign, labeling the massive mountain of cardboard, plastic, pewter and wood for what it could only have ever been: GAME STANK, reads the sign. “GAME STANK!!!” you cry, lungs desperate to expunge the offensive airborne particles of hot, buttered gaming…

Enough tomfoolery. There will be plenty more of that in future posts. The remainder of this one will be spent listing off recent game purchases I plan on devoting at least a post apiece to. By general category, and not organized in any particular order:

Yeah…. so somehow I will find time to write about all that and more in the next 3-6 months. After all, Ive got older games to review, and I’m sure I’ll be picking up another 5-10 games in the coming year.

If any of these topics interest you more greatly than the others, please drop a note! Otherwise, I’ll likely just pick from them at random and see what sort of noise I can shake out of game boxes and my head.

Stay tuned in and tweaked out!

Yeah, 3-6 months didn’t pan out so well, but I’ve since got together a group of rad gamers I call the Lab Rats (hat tip to Chris and Adam) and have picked up a slew of other games I need to pin down reviews of. (the new NetRunner, Civilization, new Descent, Infiltration, Fluxx, Horus Heresy, and more!)

I’m thinking I’ll start writing about them as I get them now; Will try to take notes as I learn and play, and will certainly document any interesting happenings at Lab Rat sessions.

Apologies to the imaginary people who read this blog and are craving more content.
